Make You Rethink Traditional Wedding Gowns- Bridal Week's Shorter Hemlines

If you’d rather not eschew a classic gown for the ceremony, at least consider one of these short styles for the reception. The cropped hemline wasn't the only nontraditional trend we saw this season: Vera Wang adopted "pretty in pink" as her mantra, Theia showed chic white pants, and Zac Posen channeled Sarah Jessica Parker's black wedding dress by presenting noir styles for his debut David’s Bridal collection. But we think that showing some leg is a playful way to mix it up for your wedding day.  After all, dancing the night away is way easier without all of that excess fabric.

As evidenced by the throng of short and sweet dresses on the fall 2014 bridal runways, the trend might be the next big thing for the big day. These days Hair isn't the only thing on the chopping block . Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, and Marchesa were just a handful of the designers who sent cocktail styles down the catwalk. And if you think that short is synonymous with casual, think again—these feathered, embroidered, and jeweled styles are nothing less than luxe.
